Has anyone tried the polyethylene "Ultimate Bunk Board Replacement" system which has no carpet. Just wondering about the gel coat on my 20 ft fiberglass boat.

I priced them out and it was expensive. I stuck with wood/carpet and gulf wax. Its cheap and its really slick.

[quote=Lazy Ike] Come on we wanna know ??? wth is gulf wax Back in the day Gulf Wax was used to seal homemade jelly in the jars. The wax was melted and poured on top of the jelly, when it cooled it solidified and sealed the jelly in the jar. Candles can also be made using Gulf wax. I would just be interested in knowing how it is applied to the bunk boards. Melted and poured into the carpet? Rubbed on?q

Thanks to all for answers, Dobbin, proangler response seems to indicate no damage to his hull, so thanks for that response.

My experience has been with any material other than carpet you may damage the gel coat over time!
