Unconfirmed --- got a text saying..
As part of the governor's declaration of the state of emergency.. All tournaments on Elephant Butte are canceled from now to April 9th. flush
I have no tournaments on the Butte but do on Ute and Conchas.

This media driven insanity has gone crazy..
I can see canceling a basketball game. Just from the sweat and body contact and ball contact between so many hands. But a 20- 50 boat fishing tournament. hammer

What’s worse is, this is just the beginning. The hysteria will only get worse.

I love how organizations, school districts, and businesses are putting a date or deadline on things. The virus knows no timeline lol.

Its not like its a bass fishing mecca anywhere. Grew up there. Its not the best state to catch bass in.

Not to mention 10s of thousands of people sit in close proximity inside at a college basketball or NBA game. I’m fine with the precaution, though. I think shutting everything down, including work, public transportation and everything short of necessities and emergency services for 2-3 weeks is the only way to knock this thing out quickly, as unpopular an opinion as that is, and how much it would hurt. But I think it would be like ripping a bandaid off. It would hopefully be better than stringing this thing along and be the right choice in the long run.

Point being I doubt it will affect more than a couple hundred people if that. Its not a bass fishing destination.

The trout anglers should be mad. Great trout fishing.

So I guess if it branches out to include Texas it will affect more than a few measly tournament fisherman.
May not be a "bass fishing destination" to someone of your caliber but to many its all they have.

Just for my info.. where you once or still a FF ?
