When was the last time the winning boat was a BassCat, I'm thinking this might be the first?

If Wikipedia is correct, you have to go all the way back to 4th Classic when Tommy Martin won on Wheeler Lake.

Bassmaster Classic Wiki Page includes boat

Mark Davis in 1995

Close with a few more and Iaconelli was one left at the altar. Skeet won that one in Shreveport. Steve Kennedy was second in Houston to J Lee.

Congrats on the win and a fine spokesman to represent.

Iaconelli liked his basscat so much. He ran it up on the bank.

Unlike rods, reel, baits, or other boat accessories, the boat is likely the least impactful aspect of what it took to win.

In these events, almost every boat is 20’ or longer and powered by a 250hp outboard. They ALL fish pretty good. The only difference might be 2-3 mph.

I want to know how the guys pushing a product ever made it to that level before they had said product.

Who cares about speed if you are beat to H3!! and soaking wet when you get there. The platforms are similar but hull designs vary greatly.

whoa, not so quick there.

I had a 2.5 lber jump into my boat in a back cove on Rayburn. It was one of those 300 series Rangers with the low gunwales , I seriously doubt that fish woulda made it into my ChampN.
