Fished a creek the last day of 2019 and the first day of 2020 and the bite was on "FIRE"! Caught a bunch of nice Redbreast in 9 to 10 inch range, some Bluegill in the 8 to 9 inch range, and a nice Rio in the 9 inch range. Worms and Gulp Alive Worms were the baits used. Fish were found in 5 to 8 feet of water holding by rock beds. All were released to fight again. Today the first day of 2020 I started the New Year out RIGHT! Fished the same creek but only had the Gulp Alive Worms with me. The bite was still on FIRE! Caught some Nice Redbreast in the 9 inch range, and some Bluegill in the 8 to 9 inch range. All fish were released to fight again. My last fish of the past Year was a Redbreast and the first fish of the new year was a Redbreast. My fishing buddy Rick aka Catyakker also was able to get some fishing time in and he also ended and started the year on a SUPER Note. Hopefully this is a good sign for this upcoming year. Ending the old year fishing and starting the New Year fishing. It just don't get any better! fish

Yep, the old creek was on fire. Every cast (or maybe every 2nd cast) produced a Bluegill or Redbreast between 7 and 9 1/2 inches on both the last day of 2019 and the first day of 2020. They're just some things about fishing you never know unless you go and then more often than not, it's a puzzlement. And get this....a few of the male Bluegills were wearing their spawning colors. Now I know, they sure don't spawn in the middle of winter, but gosh they sure were pretty and all were really fat. OMG

Thanks Curtis for the reply! The bite has slowed a lot on the creeks this past week after this latest cold front. Got a feeling the slow winter bite is now here until the spring. Will be taking advantage of the warm spells for sure. thumb

Agree! There is another strong cold front coming in this Tuesday night. We can also use some MORE RAIN! banana (R.D.)

Take advantage of the warm spells. Creek fishing has been good during periods of warmer weather! thumb
