Was able to get out to the SA Wednesday. There was plenty of people out and about a couple field trips to Confluence Park but was able to kinda pick my spot and make a few casts. It was mainly dinks for the few hours I was out there but I did hook into a whopper of a Tilapia! I do t know if they do C&R records for tilapia anymore, it I’m gonna give it a try! Hope y’all enjoy and thanks for watching and contributing my fellow sunfish compatriots!!

No C & R on tilipia. From TP&W -

This includes: plants such as hydrilla, water hyacinth, and giant salvinia; fishes such as tilapia and Asian carps (grass, silver, and bighead carp); and zebra mussels. Possess tilapia, grass carp or any other fish listed as harmful or potentially harmful, without immediately removing the head or intestines,

Great video Jagg. That is sure a record Tilapia, by a whole bunch. (That is if you would have removed the head and gutted him) Here is the current record by you know who. Tilapia, Blue 1.51 11.50 Sep 8, 2013 Chuck Dewey worm

Great video Tory, Your Tilapia would have easily been a weight record! There is no catch&release records issued for Tilapia. Again enjoyed the video. Good job.

Always love your videos Jagg. Nice Tilapia and thanks for sharing. Side Note: What was the bait you were using? You do not see many Tilapia caught on artificial baits.

Thanks for looking and all the kind words everyone! I was wondering why I didn’t see a C&R record when I had seen one before. Oh well, next time. Thanks for the great info, Ronin. It would’ve taken me a while to come across that the old fashion way. Thanks Catyak and Chuck for the kind words and for your views! Hey Chuck, if I catch another one, should I dismember it and put it in a bag so it can get weighed? How does that work? Thanks Laker for your views and question! I caught that big one on a Mepp’s Spin Fly Wooly Worm brown body with gold blade. I think I caught most of my fish that day on the spinner. Mepp’s Spin Fly Wooly Worm spinnerbait

Make sure the fish is totally covered by the ice. Do not gut it. You would loose about half it's weight!
