I want take my grandson fishing this weekend. I have not fished either lake much. Which lake and what depth. Small fish would be fine as he is 5. He told his mom I was taking him fishing so now I am taking him fishing

Never fished either for catfish but I would start off shallow in about 3-5 feet in the wind if possible. If no bites in about 30 minutes move out to 10 feet and so on. I am assuming yโall are fishing in a boat. If you have a graph look for bait and fish around it
