What’s everyone’s predictions for whwn the fish are really going to push up and get on beds? I always take a week off and I’m trying to figure out which one. Last year I caught the first bed fish 3/18.
I know the typical answer is with the full moon this weekend, but what’s everyone’s take? I’m guessing week after next. I fish Athens if that makes a difference.

I would say next week, or at least the end of next week. Nighttime temps staying higher, full moon, second week in march... a lot of positives... I think MLF is hitting fork right at prime time

I think MLF is hitting fork right at prime time I agree... The nighttime temps staying higher is the biggest factor IMO. The days are getting longer, too. I would say the first wave of locked on Bed Fish will start this weekend and be in full effect the next.

I’m in East Texas. There are bass 3” and 5-6” already. The spawn isn’t a one and done thing. It goes on a lot longer than people think. I saw Bass on beds today and 5 weeks ago.

Quite a few males were dirt shallow last weekend and saw one bed It’s started, but won’t be in full swing for another week or two for the first wave. Of course; there will be lake to lake differences.

Far north ends of east texas lakes probably already started and will last till middle of April. Smaller lakes warm faster, larger lakes like Rayburn, Toledo, Livingston spawn lasts 2-3 months. Water temp and length of daylight hours play a big role in the spawn.
