Anybody else been having this issue or have had this issue?

The past like 3 months ive been in a slump. I know it's been tricky fickle fishing lately with weather and what not. But I have been in a slump. I've been targeting largemouth and whites. While I've brought others fishing and they've caught some fish, ive been skunked on the other hand... I I basically go out at least once a week and it's been tough to say the least for me.

I need me a great day pronto!!! Not that being out on the lake is ever a bad day!

Just stay shallow and throw Senko's and Chatter baits. Grind on!!!

2018 was a beat down for me. I mean the whole year. Just stay at it and keep trying to be a smarter and more efficient angler. You will catch fish again.

I am in no way a great or even good open water fisherman. I've always been on the bank or in the shallows on a boat. Slow trig or cranks.

I did great all 2018 and most of 19. But come nov it's like a switch

You need to break the skunk funk, kick the skunk out of the boat, get your mojo back. Your confidence is shaken when even your confidence lures don't work. Get back to the basics when fishing was fun when you were a kid. Get a cheap little rod and a bucket of minnows or a cup of worms. Go out by yourself and just tear up the bream! It'll prove you can still find fish and you may even snag a bass or two, or maybe a couple eating size catfish, in the process. Best of luck to you, sir!

Don’t be tied to specific species of fish or a specific waterbody. There are lots of species out there. Go find a productive lake and catch some fish. We all have slow times. Keep at it and you will be posting some great catches soon.

Just remember, "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." This is just a ball you gotta' get around. You got this.

Look for bananas in your boat, they are evil.

You can stay down or be optimistic..... its' your call. It's just a state of mind. Try doing 2 things, 1 each for 2 fishing trips. 1 trip, just pick 1 bait and stick with it - a Senko or a Chatterbait, your choich. Next time, tie on everything you have in the boat and keep trying different baits until you hit them. One of those days you will have a great day and the jinks will be over. Just have fun, smile, and keep thowing.

Dude, we're all snake bit from time to time, and if you believe ALL the tales told in this and other fishing forums/pages, you'd think nobody ever gets skunked at all, much less over several trips. Gets back to the old joke that not all liars are fisherman, but all fisherman are liars. As others have suggested, you can get all down in the mouth about it, OR, you can double down, buck up and get to work. It's hard to stay focused at any time, even when you just run a couple of banks without getting one or even a bite, much less going multiple trips without anything to show for it. Unfortunately, it happens to ALL of us as some time or another. So, pick a few baits that you have a lot of confidence in and keep casting. Casting ITSELF counts for quite a bit. Just last week I booked several guides and I knew we'd be on fish. For me, it was a relief, I knew if I kept firing, and I was where fish were, I'd start scoring. Well, my padnah in the back didn't quite see it that way. It was a bad day, cold, rainy, etc and the guide kept firing and trying to change it up. So, sometimes it just boils down to putting enough casts into the water and covering enough water. I started loosely counting the approximate number of casts that were put into the water over time. Well, our guide, a 21 year old kid, tournament fisherman, fishes 200*250 days a year, etc, etc. Well, he's going balls to the wall. For every hundred casts he was able to put into the water, I might have gotten in 75-80. I'm an old dude and DON'T fish tournaments, and aint on the water 200*250 days a year, so I just kept firing as best as "I" could. Meanwhile, in the back of the boat, my partner got dejected, discouraged, due to the tough conditions and rough morning we'd had. As a result, he might have gotten in 20-25 casts in the same time frame. He also got skunked. I know it sound cliche when you hear the big time pros say its a mental game and you just have to stay focused on every cast. Next time your watching you favorite show, particularly if its a tournament show. Watch how quickly they move from place to place, bait to bait, rod to rod. Everything happens at light speed, even/especially if they are haing to slow down their technique. Sounds counter-intuitive I know. Just some things to think about. After all, this crazy game IS called FISHING, not CATCHING. It will turn around.

Just as an aside, I was up on Fork a couple of times during the recent MLF tournament. While I was working this one pocket that I'd seen bait getting chased by bass, who rolls in (more like rocketed in, up on pad, no less, in area I get nervous idling in due to all the timber?) Mike Iaconelli. He just kind of looked around then took off with a quizzical look on his face...........back up on pad (as an aside, I guess I wouldn't worry about ripping out my lower unit or cracking my hull, or any of the things we mortals have to pay attention to. His boat, motor, power pole, etc, etc all has crews on the lake to replace his mistakes. I guess if I had all that, I wouldn't worry about any of that either. In any case, as big a name as he is, and a superstar, go look at how many he caught during the tournament. So, it happens to everyone.
