Fished again with Doc today on Fayette. Excellent weather & overall good day. We ended up wit 46 fish total. (1 catfish, 10 sunfish & 35 bass) No real big ones today, but a lot of action. The highlight was finding a few gils. Water temp ranged from 68-72 degrees & still around 3 feet low. I forgot my phone (camera) , but thank goodness Chris had his, so we got some photos. Great day on the water yesterday. cheers

Fayette is warming up fast ! The sunfish action may start earlier this year on Fayette.

That red ear in the 4th pic was bigger than it looks.
Weighed 15+ ounces and was 10.5 inches and super thick.

Gosh, Vogey, you need to go pro photo taker with your ability to capture the moments. Doc's portrait at the top is truly a professional job. Great report as usual. Thanks for sharing. cheer

Thanks everyone for the replies.
Gitter...I think some of the bass are currently spawning, but the biggest spawn will come over the next month or so...

We who regularly fish that lake are really lucky that itโ€™s basically a catch and release lake with all the tournament pressure that it gets.

Vogey. For what I know about Fayette the LCRA will rise the lake level either in late March or early April. What is your take?

Side Note: The lake is kept low during the cooler months of the year and then kept high during the hot months. The power plant does not work has hard during the winter compared to the spring, summer months. hmmm

The LCRA lowers the lake level during mid to late fall and then rises it during early to mid spring! This is done for the power plant operations. So I have been told! 2cents
