Ranger Z519 certificate. This is an upgradeable certificate. Asking 46K , valued at over 50K. Please refer to website to see all standard options it comes with. Thanks! [Linked Image]

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

It’s what most tournaments give out for prizes, it is legit and sometimes a good deal if you can wait for a build

Has anyone ever financed a certificate through a bank? I find it hard to believe the bank would write a check for 45k to for a piece of paper.

I have wondered about this many times. Will a bank do this or do some people have 46K cash? Just curious.

I’m a loan officer at a bank, if you had a build sheet/confirmation from Ranger rather than a certificate, a bank would lend against that. It’s something ‘tangible’ a bank could see before it gets title in hand. Also, yes...cash talks. A larger down payment will always help your case. Hope that helps.

Well, it's one thing to have 50K in cash or cash equivalents. It's quite another thing to have a wife that will let you spend it on a boat.

How would you get a build sheet/confirmation? It seems to me that the seller of the certificate and the buyer would have to go together to the Ranger dealer, then someone would have to sign on the dotted line in order to get something from the boat dealer.

Rayzor,

Yes...that's something between buyer and seller and not so much the bank. A lien cant be taken on the certificate. From a collateral standpoint, if the borrower were to default on payments and the collateral taken...the bank would then only have a certificate saying they could build a boat. Once something is signed from the boat dealer and in process getting built, then a lien could more than likely be taken and a waiver placed until the Title is in the bank's hands.

That’s why these are typically good deals, have to do the math and compare to what price you can negotiate with a dealer, they get a good rebate on each boat plus the markup. Should be able to negotiate about 12% off so I’d consider talking to a dealer and comparing vs a cert at an 8% discount, always some room in there if that’s the boat you want
