Just got off the water at calaveras lake. Not even a bite. Noticed the water was colder than usual and couldn't even catch bait fish with cast net which is never an issue. Fished areas that normally produce a lot of catfish and not even a bite. Used mainly chicken liver for bait that is my go to bait and always catch a lot of fish on. Can anybody shed light at what's going on at this lake. I have grown up fishing this lake my whole life and never had any issues catching lots of catfish.

Is the power plant still running? I thought they shut it down. I used to catch tons of cats on that lake when I lived down there. A few reds and tilapia mixed in never hurt either.

It's been so bad the guides have moved down to Choke Canyon. TPWD stocked the lake with fingerling catfish about a month ago to try and give it a boost. I wish I had an answer for you but I'm as baffled as you are!
Just one more cast!
