Drove up to the Slab yesterday, on the theory that it's the only place within an hour and a half that has any stream flow. There was a million-jillion suckers close to the road, looking like migrating salmon. The only other people fishing were a pair of women hauling in suckers one after the other on trout bait.

I think I saw a white bass way down river, hanging out with a pod of common carp, but couldn't get it to bite. I got a decent black bass on a white woolly bugger, and saw a lot more hanging out in the aquarium-clear water. Probably a tad early for the spawn in this location. And the refilling of LBJ from Buchanan this week may have thrown things off too.
