OK fellas and ladies... These were my first 5 fish in 12 casts!
Location: Miller Park Pond in Temple, Texas
Date: Today. February 28, 2020
Time: 2:15 PM-3:45 PM
Equipment used: Very ultra lite Shakespeare spinning outfit. 4 pound test Stren clear blue mono. Number 502 gold and red Super Duper lure tied directly to the line with an improved clinch knot. Only the second SDL I have used all this season. The first one is still useable if I would replace the treble hook. No extra weight added.
Date the fish were stocked: Today
Number of fish caught: 22. All released and all swam away.

Left the fish biting at 3:45. And, I had the pond to myself the whole time I was there. Great little pond. Easy access. Easy parking. Public rest room a few yards away. The park is in a densely populated area in Temple. A big school across the street.

This was my 7th different stocked location this year. Have had a great rainbow season this year. I may try this location again on Monday. There is a trout derby at this location tomorrow. Huge crowd expected. I'll stay away.

My white bass season starts Sunday, March first. Good fishing to all of y'all!!!

The second fish is the same as the first but y'all get the idea I hope.

Awesome post and some nice fish. Good job Sir! I see that the Gold Super Duper works well in the Temple area! hooked If I did not have to drive through Austin, I might have given that stocking a try! hmmm Also it's not everyday that you have a whole pond all to yourself, stocked with some hungry Rainbow Trout! Again Awesome post! thumb

Side Note: Let us know how you do if you go back Monday! If I decide to make the trip, I will call you Sunday! coolio

Several of the rainbows were in the 11-12 inch range. I spent too much time taking pictures yesterday. If anybody fishes the derby today please give us a shout.

Banker: The best time to get through Austin on I35 is between 1000 and 1400 hours and of course between 1900 and 0600. Toll 130 is beginning to have it's own issues during peak traffic hours. You couldn't pay me enough to try and fish Camp M today. Good luck wherever you fish next!

Nice post and fish. I also had a super stocking season. I am also still catching a few at some of my spots. As all ready been mentioned the Gold Super is a "Trout Catching Magnet"! hooked

We have one last stocking here in Amarillo on 3/7. But I'll be in Oklahoma City that weekend for a drill meet with my NJROTC cadets.

Banker: I did not visit any Austin stocking locations. The closest to Austin I fished were Blue Hole Park in Georgetown and Shirley McDonald Park in Round Rock. Both were very good. Other locations I fished [Linked Image]
were: Blanco State Park, Copperas Cove, Killeen, LBJ State Park*, and Miller Park Pond in Temple.

**LBJ State Park was the least productive. The trout were released below the little dam and there is nothing to slow them down for miles of river. However, I did manage to catch a short limit. HaHa! Less than 5. I will visit all the above locations next season except LBJ State Park. Plus 2or 3 locations that I haven't fished before.

Did you fish Blanco State Park?

I fished Lake Georgetown yesterday for white bass. No white bass caught but these would not leave my lure alone!

I fish Blanco state Park a lot during the trout stocking seasons. I have always easily limited out. I have also fished days after the stockings had taken place and did well. I did not fish Perdernales State Park but did fish the LBJ State Park and did well. thumb

Side Note: Had a very good trout stocking season. Can't wait till next season! cheers
