Stripped our bikes of all extra weight, including brakes, to race down down the washout ruts in the hills/woods behind a friends house.

Ride down a steep embankment at the lake inside a tractor tire, going end over end, trying to make it over the boulders and into the water.

Putting anything (coins, ball bearings, rocks, etc) on the train tracks behind the school to see what they mashed into. Only broke out one school window doing that.

Trying to grab sunflowers (without gloves) from inside the car going down the gravel back roads.

Bouncing golf balls out of a moving car to see how long you could get it to stay in the road.

and many more....

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

Made "gun powder" by the quart jar, a kid could buy all that stuff from the pharmacy. Also did the bike thing through the bug spray fog. would cut up shotgun shells to get at the shot and powder then tap out the primers with hammer and screwdriver for sling shot ammo.

Built a real nice fort in the woods, had a real nicely thatched roof with pine straw. We upgraded to small fireplace and almost burnt down a 3 acre wooded section between Dundee and Pine Tree Rd. in Longview.

Walked the neighborhood with a buddy and a slingshot. One of us missed the mailbox we were aiming for and took out the bay window behind it and got caught.

It's a miracle some of us survived. Besides the bottle rocket fights, my mom got paranoid about letting me and my cousins get anything large enough to be interesting and kept us relegated to black cats and ladyfingers. I don't remember who's idea it was to get all the powder out of them and make our own big ones, but it's only by the grace of god that tree is still standing.

I can tell you with some authority, don't throw a chunk of sodium in a stocked pond. Especially if that pond belongs to your uncle. He gets a little mad.

Blasting caps and high school lockers. BOOM!

These were the ones they used for highway construction and you usually saw a sign that said to turn off all two-way radios.

once we had pop bottle rocket wars with 1/4 mile missiles, another one that did not end well for a bunch of us. seems one of them caused a small grass fire (only 75 or so acres out of maybe 100, nuthin really grin). not sure what the cops told all our parents but bro and I didn't sit or leave our room for a week.

We made a bike jump out of an old hollow core door, at the bottom of a grassy hill (our backyard). Full speed on my Huffy 26" roadmaster, I hit that ramp and the wheel cut right into the thin layer of the door and stuck. I must have flown 30 feet. I wrote that down in my book of "Things to Never Do Again".

My Dad gave my brother and me an old clothes dryer and said"here you two can take this apart if you want". So we did, stripped it all down to see what was inside it. We took the drum completely out. I climbed into to it and thought, "hey it would be fun to ride this down the hill". So we rolled it up to the top of that grassy hill and I got in and told my brother to gimmee a push. I have never been beaten so badly as that dryer drum gave me that day. I thought it would never stop until it finally came to rest in a patch of scrub brush. I wrote that down as Number 1 in my book of "Things To Never Ever Do Again".

Oh Lort, it is a 10 volume set now and still growing. An encyclopedia set pales in comparison.

Visiting a cousin in Oklahoma we would have Red Wasp wars. Everyone got on top of the tractor shed with a piece of barbwire and took turns trying to knock off the wasp nests under the overhang. Who ever was the last one to jump off was the winner. No telling how many bicycle ramps we built or the number of BB gun fights we got into.
