I'm looking at getting a set of waders. Not looking for neoprene, but lightweight breathable ones. Prefer stocking vs boot.
Most of the use will be surf/bayfishing and maybe will travel with them to Peru once in a while and get some fishing done there. (thought may leave some cheap Academy/Magellan ones there and be done)

Not looking at dropping $500 for Simms G3s, unless there is nothing in the $200-250 range that will come close. Any experience with the Orvis ones?
USIA are bombproof, but also way up there in price, and may be an option in the future, if also duck hunting.
What say you guys?

I get a solid 3 years out of my hodgemans. I wade fish about 20 times a year. When they do start to leak it is always in the crotch area, probably because I don't have a boarding ladder and a boat with high sides. Anyway about $70 bucks. So I just go buy another. I looked at 500 ones but figure they better last 21 years as it would take me that long to reach 500 using my current waders.

Go with the Simms G3. I tried the lesser wader route. You will have more money in several pairs of them vs one pair of Simms. Plus you have to deal with a leak making a trip suck.

I brought my Simms when I lived in Clear Lake which makes them 14 years old. Probably only wade 3 to 5 times per year with waders but still no issue with them.
