made a rabbit stew today. sorta like a gumbo, with browned rabbit pcs and a roux made into a soup with carrots, potato and seasonings. rabbit was too big to fry, sooooo----. made some from scratch biscuits to sop it up with.-[Linked Image]

I love rabbit. Goodness.

Luke 6:22-23

22 Blessed are you when people hate you,
when they exclude you, insult you,
and slander your name as evil
because of the Son of Man.

23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy. Take note—your reward is great in heaven, for this is the way their ancestors used to treat the prophets.

My grandad used to take me rabbit hunting in the ‘60’s and then we would fry em up. Good memories.

Too big to fry? Can you elaborate on that? Were they huge Cottontails or Easter Bunny rabbits? Stew looks good tho.

Bigger rabbits tend to be tough when you fry them but putting them in a stew pot will break that meat down and make it tender. MMMm Boy!! bannana2

the bigger ones won't fry evenly on the leg or larger pcs. if you cook long enough to get the middle done, the outer parts are too done. small pcs fry much better. they were domestic raised show rabbits. they're raised for show and the ones that don't make the grade are butchered.
