And yet donothing is pleased it is happening-
What has happed to you does not define who you are-
HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

Don't be surprised if tomorrow doesn't go down in history as Corona Friday or Virus Friday... For the next few months Trump will call it Bernie Friday and the DNC nominee will call it Trump Friday...

Nope, not close to a pandemic but the possibility exist and we should be better prepared. Apparently it is a lot more contagious and mortality rates are higher. If it gets a foothold it could be disastrous. I'm concerned but not unduly. Made significant investment in stock market yesterday, probably a little prematurely.
And Stevie, I never said I wanted it to happen, but that if electing someone other than Trump caused a recession, I would prefer that over Trump. The caronavirus has undoubtedly hurt the markets because so much is dependent on supplies from China that have been disrupted. I am cautious enough that I cancelled a cruise we had scheduled late Spring. Trump certainly has not instilled any confidence in our ability to deal with it. His anti-science agenda, budget reductions to the CDC and NIH and off the wall comments have had negative impact. But he does think the Dems have the ability to retroactively affect markets with their comments in the debate.

Actually, I was expecting worse. Sort of surprised how resilient the market was today.

Further, before Trump was elected congress had put in motion a reduction in payments to States money for emergency preparation for things such as flu. Perhaps the cold slap in the face about how dependent we are on China will wake people up and perhaps we will take steps to pull back a few critical things. You know like pharmaceuticals. They can keep the manufacture of pleasing trinkets. If words and BS would solve this issue it would be fixed tomorrow.

[/quo Not sure of anyone that advocates for open borders. But we do need a policy in place that deals with those who regularly cross the border.
