Does anyone have a link to a skeeter trim comparison? Trying to decided on which trim to buy between ZX and FX but i cant find an easy to read comparison to know what i am getting for my extra $10K.

If you are looking for new, you should wait a week to see the what they are unveil at the classic. I assume it's a new ZX boat as they just launched the FXR. Guessing the new one will be ZXR.

If you are looking at older models, you could be looking at different hulls, different deck configurations and bells and whistles. If you are looking at older boats, it's better to just ask the difference in the two or three you are considering.

I saw the new boat is coming.. i do assume its an ZXR. My question is, what are the bells and whistles that make it different? ZX and FXR both have the same engine, same electronics, and id get two power poles either way... what else really matters?

I'm not really sure, I am sure a dealer on here can speak to it more. I know the FX has deck lighting and rod box lighting, Rod box ventilation, redesigned battery compartmen but I don't know if the newer or this coming ZXR will have all that too. And I can't remember if the ZX has the FX Hull or not, so it might ride different too. Logo seats and other things small details might be the other small differences. If both boats are the same length and powered the same. I am with you, I don't know about the $10k difference as I fish out of a 24 yr old skeeter and I am use to not having any bells and whistles.

I went from a FX to a new ZX a few months ago. Do not miss a beat. I like the steel fenders on trailer and less stuff to go bad like keypads etc. The national packaged ZX225 and ZX250s are great for the money.

They come with a 9" and 12" Helix , Ultrex and a Power Pole. I added a second Power Pole. Still kept cost down compared to other brands. The ZX comes with remote drain plug, rod box ventilation, rod box lighting , manual jackplate etc. The FXR will have the touchpads, digital gauges, larger graphs, hydraulic jackplate and second Power Pole. The FXR is a whole new hull as well.

How does your zx250 run? Did you get it with the hydraulic jack plate or manual? Looking at one pretty hard and about to get it, found a 2019 with Gen 3 helixs

Its a tad quicker than my FX20 was. I have a manual jackplate that came stock. Love the boat. No regrets at all by going ZX this time. I look at it as $15,000 saved. Granted the FXR is on my radar next time around if there is no ZXR.

Could the speed difference be that you had 400 lbs of baits in your FX and only 300 lbs in the ZX?

FX is like LTZ/Lariat in a Chevy/Ford and ZX is like LT/XLT. I drive a lariat truck and have a ZX boat, roflmao: seriously, buy what you want and can afford, you wonโ€™t be disappointed in either!

Hey Mark,
I am wondering about your speed difference (I know it is not all that important). I run an FX20 right now and can still outrun most ZX250's that I have come across. My tourney partner has a 2018 ZX250 and with me and him and tackle run about 68 in his and about 70 in my FX. Just wondering how much has changed in the last 2 years with the ZX as far as speed.

My 2019 ZX250 will break 70 pretty easily loaded with 2 guys, dual 8' Blades. 74 is the fastest I have had it solo. My '15 FX20 would top out around 72ish loaded even using the hydraulic JP. Talking to the dealer it sounds like I just got one of those motors tgat is a tad quicker than others since everything is stock on it.

I am not overly concerned about how fast I go but initially I was surprised my ZX is faster than my FX. I will say the FX was more nimble and such in turnsabut as for running top end my ZK is faster. Weird I guess.
