If you cant catch or don't have shad or perch for cut bait. Would you use liver, chicken hearts, minnows or gold fish?

Whats your favorite?

I haven’t jugged in 20 yrs but I do know a few old timers that still do and they like to use chicken breast and lil smokies.

There is a fine line between fishing and floating around like an idiot!!

I don't know if there is anywhere that sells live crawfish near you, but they work good too.

Tried chicken breast with little luck. But have not tried little smokies...I could see the fat in them putting out a good scent trail.

Hot dog pieces mixed in a freezer bag with jello/koolaid mix, garlic, cayenne powder. Keeps in a coffee can in the fridge for a looong time.

I thought that too, until we caught a 40lb flathead and a bunch of eater size channels.

Is that a cheeze type bait? Where do you find it online or does like Walmart/basspro etc sell it? And do you have to use treble hooks?

I tried hot dogs caught about as many carp as cats. Turtles kept stealing it too.
