I don't know how we would make it without Blue Cross/Blue Shield. The pharmaceutical industry is so corrupt.

Check with your Dr. and see about samples. These are free and the drug rep provides them so they should have an ample supply.

I don’t know how it persists that US consumers continue to provide for the cost of research and development and the rest of the world gets a bargain. Jardiance probably cost a few billion to get to market.

Been thinking of talking to my doc about Jardiance. I checked and it falls into the category of maintenance drugs they cover 100%. Does it work, can you tell a difference?

I'm on a heart rhythm med that would be $400/month with no insurance, cost $60 copay S&W. Our pharmacy found a coupon that brought it down to $5, then it came out as a generic and S&W would only cover generic. It now cost $55/month.

It appears to have side effects.

I have found that prices vary wildly from pharmacy to pharmacy. It is good to know that Walmart and Costco have extensive lists of generic drugs (100s) that are $10 for 90 days. The drugs that are not of the list but are generics also in some cases much cheaper. Did you know it used to be against the rules for pharmacists to tell people about a drug being cheaper directly bought than through an insurance plan? Well that is now corrected and the lists can be readily obtained, most docs will work to find a drug on the list that will treat the medical need. I take a drug that Medicare will not pay for, but I get it for $32 for 90 by shopping around.

And we wonder why so many people listen when Bernie talks.

Luke 6:22-23

22 Blessed are you when people hate you,
when they exclude you, insult you,
and slander your name as evil
because of the Son of Man.

23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy. Take note—your reward is great in heaven, for this is the way their ancestors used to treat the prophets.

Is there a socialist country that develops drugs?

Free markets created an expensive drug. Would it have been better to never create it?

Most rely on basic government-funded research that then spins off to a potential actual product.
