Ok so every time I put gas in my girlfriend’s vehicle, it can’t take no more then a few gallons and the pump shuts off. You have restart the pump no matter where you are at. It will take a few gallons then shut off again. This is real irritating as this is a daily occurrence, any suggestions to what this might be?

My Chevy pickup does that at some stations. Usually just pull the nozzle back about an inch and that fixes it. I think it is overly sensitive gas nozzle shutoffs.

This does it at every gas station after about 3-5 gallons no matter how far the nozzle is in the hole.

Well, it sounds like a restricted fill hose. The vapors have to be able to get out or the nozzle will kick off. Check and see if the fill hose is kinked between the cap and tank.

You have a venting issue, I've heard of some that have had the fuel tank replaced because it was malfunctioning. This was on a Dodge Magnum doing the same exact thing.

As Fordnut says, its not venting. As much rain as we've had, moisture can get into the charcoal canister or you have a vent solenoid not working properly.
