2/25/20 Richland Chambers
2 of my regulars. Estimated 45 fish
(2 limits of hybrids and 13 blues kept all whites regardless of size were released)
This morning I had returning regulars Richard and Tray. These guys have fished with me so much I let them call the shots and pretty much have the run of my gear and supplies.
Tray wanted to bottom fish for catfish and Richard wanted to catch whites and hybrids.
It was choppy when we left for sure and we went up the Richland Creek arm for some less rough waters. Fishing was pretty much the same from this weekend. Finding fish was easy - hooking them was another story.
(Except for Tray who had steady action on shad for blues in just about every area. Quality eater fish and lost a big one!)
We spent the first 2 hours in 40-50โ. We caught fish but it was a slow pick. If we saw hybrids come through we usually caught 1 and only 1.
Caught 2 white crappie here also, one was almost 2lbs
The winds died off a bit and we went back to the main lake for the rest of the trip. Hybrids and bigger whites were still tough, but much more active here. 48-55โ
Today almost all hybrids came from 20-30โ in deeper waters.
Whites were typically suspended in 30-40โ and not very active. The whites that would come through in the 15-25โ range were usually bigger and hungry.
Zman Streakz 3.75 again today - shiner/nuked chicken and Ralphโs Shad were colors used today
Surface water temp 51-52
Once I dropped of my guys off I grabbed my wife and we went out to catch dinner. Only needed 1 hybrid.....ended up bringing home a blue cat as the winds / returning white caps were gonna make getting the boat out of the water a bit of a chore and we opted to get off the water.
