Yeah those crappie guys get all up in the boat channel and then get mad when you fly by them. JS

When those "brainiacs" over there can find me all these "bass boats powered by a 350hp motor" I might believe em... I can't even think of a certified bass tourney trial where anything over 250hp is legal.

The OP said two boats were in a boat channel, the lead slowed down with his motor to high and the bass boat passed him which pushed the other boat into a stump. Sounds like the guy that had his motor to high is the one that causes the issue to me. It's a boat lane. Your supposed to run a boat lane. If you don't know how to operate your boat thr correct way that isn't anyone else's fault. I've been passed by 100s of boats never once had it throw me all out of whack.

Actually that's not what it says at all. He stated the 2nd boat passed him with his motor trimmed up to high, which caused him to porpoise when he hit the lead boats wake. Not taking sides here....I'm a bass fisherman. Just wanted to state the facts.

Basschamps, mediabass, Texas team trail. Only tourneys I can think of that don't are BASS or FLW.

Those crappie guys,,,always sitting right in the darn boat lane! I always idle by them and try to be respectful. Most are friendly, some give you a dirty look, I don't think some people realize you can't get out of the boat lane in some places to get by them without being in the stumps.

I love to fish for both, especially in the hot summer when the bass fishing gets a little slow. I prefer people stay on plane when they go by if I am crappie fishing. Wake is much smaller from someone on plane than someone shutting it down trying to be courteous. If you set up on or near a boat lane like Buck Creek area at Roberts, wakes are to be expected. On the other hand running another boat down and passing them in close proximity at high speed in a narrow boat lane is not nice and dangerous obviously. Everyone be safe, this is supposed to be fun and relaxing!

See you on the lake and have a great day!

Ok well I possibly read it wrong but still what I said it's true. If the motor was to high which caused the boat to deviate then the operator is at fault for not knowing how to run the boat the proper way.

I always fish the boat lane on Pines, its a great creek channel in an otherwise flat area. I also fully expect people to run right past me and I troll out of the way when a boat is coming. I also wave people through when they start to slow down for me.

On the other hand, I always slow down for others fishing the lane because I never know who might get offended or thrown off balance, and I wait to see if they will wave me through. I am perfectly fine if they dont though.

That said, this story had nothing to do with a boat fishing the lane, it sounds like the approaching boat wasnt pay attention to the boat in front slowing down and then did as minimal an amount of maneuvering as possible to keep from running up on the other boat. I think a lot of people running the lane just get mad and treat the lane like it is a highway that others are supposed to stay off of unless running. But keep in mind that you cant just get out of the lane to come off plane, you have to get down to idle in a lot of areas before getting out of that lane.

Cruise the lane between Pops and Big Oaks when the lake is about 3' low and you will see you don't want to run out of the lane. Copeland Creek lane is probably worse. I fish around the boat lane often and expect traffic so I get out of the way, doesn't bother me. I have had several fishermen hold up 1 finger as I went by always figured they were letting me know how many fish they had caught😁

I fish for both... but damn sure don’t fish in a boat lane. That’s just idiocy and asking for trouble. I also don’t go sit in the middle of I-30, which is about as smart as sitting in a boat lane.
