Canes is good, but only if you eat it there. They serve the take out in a styrofoam box and within just a few minutes the fries and the chicken get soggy. It is a night and day difference eating in the restaurant and taking out. I still maintain the best thing on the menu at Canes is the toast.
Slim Chickens sucks. Over priced and over cooked under seasoned chicken, and under cooked crinkle fries. The one thing they have is a large variety of sauces. However the sauces are not good enough to ignore the medium.
Cowboy Chicken is really good. It is a wood fired rotisserie. My complaint with Cowboy is the same as many bbq places though - you walk in there and you are inundated with smoke. Clothes and hair will smell for the rest of the day. Not sure if they have a drive thru but that's the way I'd go.
EDIT:
The best fried chicken and chicken fingers is Mike's Chicken. It is in Dallas on Maple Ave just north of the Tollway. Weird little dive that is attached to a laundromat. But they fixed up the restaurant and man it is good. Replaced Rudy's as the top fried chicken, and you don't have to have a boot knife to go up and order at Mike's.

I used to be a fan of canes till I had slim chickens. Night and day difference with no sauce needed at slims.

Dan isn’t allowed to give reviews on fries as he likes In-N-Outs cries, maybe the worst fries know to man. They’re barely edible. In N Out has tremendous burgers. The fries are different. Actually made from potatoes cut like a few minutes before you get them. I like them animal style. But any other way they are definitely not great. thank you..... you have made my day and made me love you more. didn't think that was possible.

Mr. Dan9 is a good guy, no question, but the fact that he applauds In/Out food makes me question his palate...regardless, no harm. I'm heading to RCane's today at 15th/Alma, Plano. Night and day difference in getting Canes to go and eating in. They should just close their drive thru or find another way to package it.
