I'm headed to the big pond this weekend and was wondering if anyone had fished it recently. I left them biting back in October, but have been chasing the ducks around all winter. The few people I know have said it's been a tough February, but hoping for some better news. Thank you in advance, and tight lines.

It’s been better for sure! Fish are fat nothing in their stomachs and with the lake levels going up and down like a roller coaster they haven’t been in the best mood’s on most days!

Chris what is your opinion of the lake for this year? I know it sometimes goes in phases of having lots of big fish, then a flood or drought wipes them out. Other years lots of box fish or short fish etc.

So if we don’t have any major floods or droughts how do you think the lake is looking?

It was pretty slow for our group this past weekend and I think we did better than most. The bite for us was almost all in the early morning.

Population of fish has been great all year this is just one of those funky things that can happen when the lake is rising falling rising falling etc. plus fish are all super healthy from eating all winter not needing to eat and really getting the spawn on their mind.We have definitely noticed we’re not seeing anything over 13 pounds as well. Everything cycles in my 26 years I’ve definitely seen it go up and down many times we just need the levels & weather to stabilize.

Thank you for the reports. Seems to be on par with what I've been hearing. I'll let y'all know how it goes this weekend. I might have to chase those crappie around if the Stripers have lock jaw.
