We got this fish on Welsh Friday. The mouth is too small to be a normal largemouth. But what else would it be on Welsh?

I'm sure there are spots on Welsh. They pump in water from Pines, so yeah, there probably are spots there.

Looks like a spot to me.. I catch them all the time on Houston County. On that lake you don't even bother checking all the fish because half of them are spotted bass

Is there a definite toothy patch on the tongue? If so probably spotted bass.

That's a largemouth. The jaw clearly extends beyond the eye. On a spotted bass, it'll be even with it.

Looks like a largemouth to me too. But it's mouth is half the size of all the other fish we caught this year.

Looks like a very young super healthy largemouth. I've caught some on the north end of Toledo that barely measured that I swear were 3lbs that are built just like that

^^^^ yep. When Joe Pool first opened up I caught lots of them that looked like that. Beefy bodies, small mouths! That's good news for that lake!!

Yep! Welsh and Monticello have two of the highest % of Florida genetics in the state. That looks like a super fish that I bet is only about 18 months old, hence the small mount and head. Mike Frazier from Camelot Bell has had 1 year class fish go close to 3# and they look just like that fish.
