This [censored] sucks. Had it since 2012. Now I’m back at UT Health in Tyler. Last time in 2018 the dr said my veins couldn’t handle any more stents. This time if they can’t get blood flow to my left foot, it’s bypasses. Worst part for me is when they take the catheter out. Uuuggghhhhh

Actually it's your arteries not your veins. That's part of what I do for a living. It is a horrible disease. A slow silent killer. A stent can help restore blood flow, but over time it changes the way blood flows and it will occlude. Which means re-ballooning of the stent or another stent within a stent. What daily blood thinners have they put you on?

Been on plavix since 2012. Got me on a heparin drip right now but they’re getting ready to take me to the cath lab and put some kind of blood thinner or something through my leg. I’ll be asleep then in ICU all night flat on my back.

Yea, probably dripping TPA over night to see if it helps loosen the clots. That's what we used to do years ago. Helped about 50% of the time.

So far the heparin drip I’ve been on since last night hasn’t done any good.

Prayers to you.

So Bass, is this something that can be prevented or is it luck of the draw? This PAD.

Luke 6:22-23

22 Blessed are you when people hate you,
when they exclude you, insult you,
and slander your name as evil
because of the Son of Man.

23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy. Take note—your reward is great in heaven, for this is the way their ancestors used to treat the prophets.

Heparin is a system wide drug. It's good to thin your blood. But not usually to break up chronic clot. The TPA will be dripped in the artery that has the clot.

The TPA drip did not work. Back in my room now with a brick on my hip/groin. Looking at doing a bypass in the morning.
