2/17/20 Lake Georgetown
Fished alone 80 fish caught and released

(Tow vehicle still in the shop - had to stay close to home)
I launched from Cedar Breaks at daylight.
First stop 28’. Used RSR minnow slab to catch 10 first year white bass pretty quick before moving to find bigger fish.

(The rest of the day I used Zman Streakz 3.75 shiner color with VMC neon moon eye jighead)

Moved around a lot for the next few hours, I couldn’t catch more than 3-5 per stop before they moved on. The skies were still 100% cloud cover with light to no winds.

I started finding more active schools in deeper water either over or very near the main river channel 40-55’. I started catching 5-10 before I had to move again.

I fished different areas and depths from the mouth of the river channel to 1/4 mile north of the dam. Fish were caught all over the lake, but mid lake was better quality and more active fish.

About noon I hit 50 fish, that’s also when the sun started shining through the clouds and the winds increased. The fish started to turn on. I went from 50 to 70 pretty quick without moving and decided 80 was my stopping point. This stop was 44’.

Another quick move and I was at 78........then the grind started! I missed strike after strike!

Finally the last 2 came over the side and I called it a day at 1:58pm

Water temp ranged from 53-56, but 54 was mid lake temp.

4 short hybrids, 1 crappie, 7 largemouth and the rest were white bass. I had probably 35 quality white bass (12-14”)
Not bad for a not so great fishing lake.

Headed to Richland Chambers Friday and will be there for a week - weekend is booked, but I have weekdays available.

Bigger white bass are suspended and smaller fish seemed more bottom oriented.

I never did any good at G-town. This time of year we would catch those whites moving up the river to tejas camp but the last flood changed the river and moved a sandbar. Dont think its near as good now.

We've never done any good at Gtown either, but this makes me want to try. Do you do guide trips out there voodew?

I do offer guide trips there, but beware the quality of fish is poor compared to most other lakes - small whites, 16-17” hybrids and 1-2lb largemouth
