Headed to Amistad in the morning.

Where would YOU go for a one day trip to Amistad and wanted to catch a few Carp?

I have pack bait, corn, range cubes and kool-aid, oh and a boat.

Any tips, suggestions, pointers, locations are welcome!!

Amistad is a HUGE lake and is loaded with BIG carp! There are several parks located on the lake. Diablo Park East is easy to get to. There is also a public fishing pier there. Also ample bank space. Never fished for carp on Amistad but have seen some huge ones while fishing. Good luck and let us know how you do. thumb

Side Note: You can also go into the National Park Headquarters and Visitors center. You might be able to get some more areas to fish at and lake information!. coolio

I'd opt for a marina or somewhere with plenty of structure/vegetation. The Rough Canyon Recreation Area looks decent!

Catch and release. The dream - to catch one of every species of Freshwater fish in our great state! If only I can resist Carp...

Baited a cove just a bit away from Rough Canyon with sweet corn and range cubes. Went off and wasted some time throwing crank baits for bass....bout an hour or so.

Came back and fished til dark. No luck.
