Jc’s Sportfishing Weekly Fish Report.
As the Admiral Seas It
Fishing Report: 11/19/19 to 11/23/19
Stop by Our Office for up to Date Fishing Report

Marlin

Still very good at the Lighthouse, pitching live bait, lures and drifting baits at about 160ft.
We caught: 2 marlines on Tuesday, 1 on Wednesday, 6 on Thursday and 12 on Saturday.

Dorado

Dorado fishing very good, most fish from 12lbs to 16lbs on lures, live bait is getting the bigger fish and ballyhoo.
We caught: 18 dorados on Tuesday, 21 on Wednesday, 32 on Thursday, 8 on Friday and 2 on Saturday.

Tuna

Tuna are tough to find, the schools are scattered out due to the commercial seiners, we have an ok day here and there, just not great and the fish are small football size. Catch them on cedar plugs and hoochies. Reports of a few big ones on the yachts, they are going 40 miles or more off shore.
We caught: 14 tuna and 2 skipjack on Tuesday, 9 on Wednesday and one on Thursday.

Wahoo

Has been slow few reports of hookups not many landed.

Jc’s Sportfishing Charters is a family owned and operated business and has been fishing in Cabo San Lucas for the past 18 years. Jerry, explains that his charter business is geared more for families and novice anglers, making sure everyone who charters a boat with him have a great time and lots of fun. We welcome families, and groups. We want everyone who fishes with us to take all the sites in and have a memorable experience. This is what is most important to us. We have and do a few tournaments each year and can cater to fisherman who might be interested in tournament fishing. Well let’s get on with the fishing report for this past week.

WEATHER: For Cabo San Lucas in the coming two weeks the average daytime maximum temperature will be around 27°C, with a high for the two weeks of 30°C expected on the afternoon of Monday 25th. From The Admirals Kitchen!
Seared Tuna with Avocado Salsa

Yield
Serves 4 (serving size: 1 tuna steak and about 1/3 cup salsa)

Sustainable Choice.

Before you sear the tuna, be sure to get the pan screaming hot--this gives you a deep crust without overcooking the interior. Look for yellowfin tuna caught using the troll or pole-and-line technique.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup halved grape tomatoes
1/2 cup vertically sliced red onion
3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
3/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 avocados, peeled and diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
2 tablespoons lower-sodium soy sauce
2 teaspoons dark brown sugar
Cooking spray
4 (6-ounce) tuna steaks

DIRECTIONS

Step 1
Combine first 9 ingredients in a medium bowl.

Step 2
Combine soy sauce and brown sugar in a small bowl, stirring until brown sugar dissolves. Reserve 1 tablespoon soy sauce mixture. Heat a grill pan over high heat. Coat pan evenly with cooking spray. Add steaks to pan; cook 2 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness, basting steaks frequently with soy mixture. Remove steaks from grill pan; drizzle with reserved 1 tablespoon soy mixture. Serve fish with salsa.

JC’S Blackberry Fizz:

INGREDIENTS:
1 oz. Cognac
1 oz. Blackberry liqueur
3/4 oz. Simple syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Sparkling Wine

DIRECTIONS
Combine Cognac, blackberry liqueur, simple syrup and Angostura bitters in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well then strain into a glass. Top with a splash of sparkling wine.

BEWARE: Please beware of the guys in the street selling boat charters. If you wait till the day you are fishing and go to the dock where your boat is many times people will mislead you to another boat or dock trying to put you on a boat that was not meant for you. You need to have a person guide you to your boat, who is from a reputable charter company. This way there is no confusion or misleading. Please remember when renting Sport fishing boats in Cabo that you rent your boat from reputable and established business. Walk into a fishing fleet office and ask questions about what you are getting and what are the costs? You don't want to rent boats from vendors in the streets and you do not want to book through shady websites offering you the world. Check through travel forums about reputable fishing fleets to deal with. Look for testimonials about the fleet your booking, your charter with. Ask about what will the boat be supplying? Will it include beverages or lunches? How much does it cost to fillet your catch? Check to see if charter boat is insured? Ask about getting your catch smoked? Check cost of a fishing license. These are just a few things to consider when booking your charter boat. We will be talking more about this in the next weeks fishing report. Until next time good fishing and we hope to see you in Cabo soon. Come by the office here in Cabo and get all the latest up to date fishing report.
