Does anyone have an experience on Lake Guntersville in the fall? We are talking about planning a trip and wondering if it will be worth it? Will we be able to a good number of fish in a 3-5 day span?? We are looking September time and if October is better we can push it back...

September should be fine. As with any body of water you have to find the fish before you can catch them. Guntersville can cough up dozens of fish per day at that time of year and the top water bite can be awesome.

suggest you plan your trip as late in October as you can....typically the closer you get to cold weather, the better the frog/top water bite is....been my experience that you still have a lot of hot weather in sept. and it can be one of the toughest fishing months....

I would hesitate to say that fishing is good on the Big G in September. There are a lot of youtube videos from guys fishing G in September and I think the consensus is its tough. I agree with Beartrap.. later is better. I grew up fishing Guntersville.. great lake then and now.. but look forward to being on the water with 200 boats around you. In Sept.. you will be pitching mats of millfoil up around the Comer Bridge in Scottsboro. Miles and miles of mats along the edge of the river channel. That is pretty much the deal then. Good luck and I'm jealous.

I go every year in October for the big bass tourney. It really gets going mid October. Only thing you need to take is flipping rods and frog rods. Late October is great tone to go and still would only flip/frog. If you want to fish a ledge then chunk an a rig but why when they are blowing frogs out of the water. There is enough flipping for 5 days straight of fishing. Find the cheese mats and throw frogs. I’ll be there 10/13-10/18. I’d recommend taking a trip with Lonnie Cochran 1 day. He will put you in the right areas and on the right pattern. You’ll enjoy your time there for sure. Waterfront Bait & Tackle is a great place to stay and has breakfast, lunch, gas, tackle, & a ramp across the street. If it’s booked check out lake Guntersville cabin rentals. He is a good dude and only 7-8 mins from Waterfront. GTO is an awesome tackle shop that you’ll have to visit along with Scottsboro Tackle Co.

Awesome!!! Thank you everyone for the input! I would love to get on a good frog bite while we are there! We are going to push it to October! I threw the idea to the guys about the Big Bass tournament!
