Mouth of the river at Limestone is silted in

If I fished for money.........I'd be broke.

I was there last Saturday and the Creek on the West side was running strong as well as the little cut through. Water Temp was 46 though.

There is a real bad log jam about 100 yards or so up from the mouth of the river also. Alot has changed up there the last few years.

Thanks for the post, I was going to go there this weekend, please keep us informed. Do you know of a place other than the 164 bridge to launch a 2 man boat?

No public place other than the Bridge. Last Saturday water was really running so I would be careful. If you Launch on Limestone from the County Park and stay to the West side of the Lake, you will eventually (about 2 Miles) get to a small creek which will take you into the Navasota. Problem is that it is a long way through a lot of bad stumps. My boat will handle all that but if a South Wind comes up with White Caps you could get in trouble in that area.

That Log Jam is in the River itself and in the last 5 years or so has the River blocked off. To get in the Navasota from Limestone Lake you have to stay to the West side of the Lake and go through a small creek to get to the River. There is actually two places and they are open now. I went through there Saturday. I have a 18' Mud Boat that is built for that but the big stumps scare me as well as the possibility of a South Wind that makes it really dangerous in those Stumps.

Is the river flowing up at Fort Parker? Has there been enough rain in the area to get the river up for the whites to move into?

I have a little 2 man boat I think going in from the main lake would be too hard. I also have a bass boat but from what you said I don't think that a good idea for it ether. The only problem at the bridge is getting the boat back up that hill, plus parking there. If the river jam was gone I was told it would be easy to come in that way, I never been over in that area to see for myself.

Not sure about Ft Parker but betting it is way up, since it is North of the places I fish.

No please dont try it with your Bass Boat and it is too far with the little two man. River Log Jam has been there for years. The River itself is silted in at the Mouth and I know exactly where it is and still have trouble finding it. My Boat is a 18ft Double thick Stumpjumper Mud Boat with a 40hp Gatortail and I usually will not go through there myself. I have a dirt boat Launch on private property that I put in on but it has to be about a week after a rain to be dry enough to launch. It is possible to get there from the Lake but you must hug the West Side of the Lake from the County Park and then you can duck into a couple small creeks to get to the River. It is only about 2ft deep with the water up and full of submerged logs. Also pretty easy to get lost through there. 164 bridge is your best bet and I know how bad that is myself.

daddyflea thanks, If some land owner around the bridge could put in a ramp he could make a good amount in launch fees. I been there when you had to park almost where you turn in off the main road because of all the trailer and trucks.

Hope this last rain will turn the fish on.

I am betting on Saturday the 29th myself. Should be good if we get a little warn weather. On the Ramps most of the River around the bridge has high Banks on both sides. Would have to be a really fancy Ramp.

OK I went Saturday the 29th and the Fish were there. We only caught 11 but saw tons of fish on the Sonar. Water Temp was 52 to 54. We went back the next day which was 03/01 and water Temp was mostly 54. We caught 27 good big ones. They are slow and spotty. All we caught were a couple miles South of the bridge over 164. On the 29th we did run all the way up North of the Bridge and we did catch one up there but that was all. Looks like they are just now moving in from Limestone.
