I am new to the Weatherford area and recently got rid of my boat. I checked out Rock Creek above Possum Kingdom today. No bites, but seems like a good area for when the spawn starts. Does anyone have any input on this area?

No replies. That means it's smoking hot for sandies and crappies during the spawn.

Have you tried Mineral Wells lake? in my upon PK is not a good bank lake for crappie unless you have a home or kayak.

hwy 16 crosses the brazos river below the dam. There's a place to park it's okay bank fishing, better in a kayak.... watch tpwd in colder months for trout stocking schedule of nearby ponds and rivers, that's always fun and good to take kids out too also...

On Brazos, pretty spot. Trout fished that area with flies, they were in there and the bait guys were yanking them out but they were picky on the flies (but had been assaulted pretty good by the time I got to fish it) further away from dam could see how with a slower flow could be decent fishing for native species
