I had a bad day of fishing today on Fork. Water level came up about three feet in three weeks and my fish moved. I did catch three including my first crappie on Stubbys cheese bait. I just stuck with my usual baited holes and they did not produce. So like most fishermen I have come up with what I think may have happened. Fish go to where food is plentiful and during rains that is creeks. So I got a theory that my fish moved to more food with the incoming water. I cannot test this theory because I am playing nurse for my injured wife. We have been married for 37 years and she tumbled down the stairs at home and tore three ligaments and fractured her tibia. Do not much fishing for me till she gets better. If you are catfishing and catching fish now I would like to know in general terms the keys to success. I like to learn and for me often that is by failure. I never give up and usually solve my mysteries myself or with a quick call to Stubby. Stubby will give guys hints to help their fishing with a call sometimes. I appreciate his friendship along with his knowledge and also the cheese bait. Any clues will be appreciated. It was cool catching a big crappie on the Stubbys baitabd we got a good chuckle on that fish catch. I might should have tied on a jig after catching the crappie but I just really like catching channel catfish. Donโ€™t forget the creole seasoning in your corn meal. Lol

Any day is a good day while on the water. Some are just better than others. Having a bad day of fishing makes the good days seem a whole lot better! Enjoyed the post. thumb

You are correct. Personally I had health issues in the form of 5 strokes that forced me to decide to retire. So any day fishing is much better than just about anything else. I do enjoy each day and yes each fish and count them as a blessing from God!

Ok, by the way I love the rod you made for me. It is incredibly sensitive and I did catch my two 10 pound fish this year on it. I just fish with one rod so more than most times it is inn my hand.
