Fished Fayette yesterday from 7:30 - 6:00. The day started out foggy/misty with winds 5-10 mph. Winds picked up to 10-15mph around 10am & remained that way for the rest of the day. Water temp was 62-66 degrees & still around 3 feet low. Fished for bass most of the day, but did spend around 2 hours searching for sunnies. Ended up with 27 bass & 2 sunfish. Caught one red ear & a small bluegill in 22 feet of water near the intake...on nightcrawlers. The bass were a little bigger this trip with a few in the 3-4 lb range. Most of the bass were caught on 7.5 in. Culprit worms on bass tackle, but did get 6 or 7 on ultra lite gear using a Yazuri rattlin vibe & night crawlers, while trying for bluegill. [Linked Image]

Side Note: That would have been a SUPER NICE sack of bass if you were fishing a tournament.

Thanks for the replies...

Gitter...Back in the late 1970s I fished a tournament on Toledo Bend...Did pretty well, but did not really like it and haven't fished one since. Fishing should be fun !

Barbarian...I did fish multiple spots...the fish were really scattered...the only real concentration I found was at the intake area.

Chuck/Curtis...I have a lot to learn regarding the Hummingbird unit. The images are crystal clear & I did see rock piles, schools of baitfish & suspended fish on the various screens. The only problem I had was that only one side of the side imaging worked. The left side was super clear, but the right side was black...no image. Will be working with the dealer today to figure out what the problem is...could be operator error, bad transducer etc.

I fished my fair share of Bass Tournaments with our local bass club over the years. It was fun for awhile. Those five fish would have won a lot of them. Now I just fish for the fun and love of being in the outdoors which is much more enjoyable than fishing a tournament.

Once you figure that side scan out I have only two words for those fish on Fayette! "Watch Out"! Heck you tore em up without side scan. I cannot imagine what you can do with it! hooked

Chuck...I think I got my issue fixed today at the boat dealer...side imaging is just a tool to help me locate more deeper water areas that hold gils when the water is warmer...but am hoping it can help out in the cooler months as well...we will see...cant wait to get back on the water to play with it some more.

A friend of mine who I fish with a lot has side scan. It has been a great tool in helping us find fish in areas that we would normally miss. If I had a boat I would defiantly get a side scan! It is truly a great fish finder! The more you use it the better you get. woot

Side Note: As already been mentioned. You having a side scan no fish is safe! hooked

My Red Fish guide has side scan! Really gives you an advantage in finding and staying on fish. Especially if fish are on the move!

The more you use it the better you will get. With both Chris and Fred now having side scan as well that is like having a fleet of Navy Destroyers patrolling Fayette! roflmao hooked
