Great looking work ! Did you sandblast all the trailer base then prime and paint or did you add rust proof paint ? Look forward to final results .

we treated with rust remover/inhibitor then power washed. Working to have the trailer road ready by the coming weekend...need some warm, dry days to wrap up the painting. Here's the paint we used

Fenders are painted ....now to add a little holographic clear coat and it’s done... ...probably should have replaced the stickers but kinda like having the originals..

I think your right... the original decals was the way to go. Its almost always better the leave a bit of the old in tact.
Good work. Thanks for keeping us updated on your progress. Can wait to see the final product!

What a transformation! I wasn't too excited about what you started out with, but wow, I'm impressed.

Looks really nice. Great job! I would not leave the kayak strapped to the cart between outings especially in the summer. I was told by Jackson Kayaks that can cause the kayak to warp. Do not know if you will still have the issue if you remove the straps between outing.

The top rails on almost any kayak is plenty strong enough to support its weight even in the heat of the summer.

We're also working to complete a 4' x 3' storage bin that will attach to the trailer tongue and rod holders/compartments utilizing the space beneath the kayaks. The trailer will be used for transport only. My kayaks are hanging in a cradle from the ceiling in my garage. I'm hoping this will not cause warping issues but I am keeping an eye on it.

Having that place up front for the gear really completes a great trailer setup. Very nice job.
