I have had nothing but issues with the V2 stuff and it's expensive been using the super slick 8 for the longest, but places have quit selling it so I put the V2 on my Stella in 10lb which was the exact same poundage as the super 8 and tied a FG knot using the same rod and all within 10 cast the damn not was so frayed the knot was breaking down. I've fished my super slick 8 for a full year going up to 6 weeks on a single FG knot never a problem. It's supposed to be better, but I have to disagree on this one. So has anyone else had any issues with the V2 braid?

I was about to buy some today but the reviews were pretty bad on TW. I just went back to Spectra again for this order, I prefer it over the super slick.

I switched away from PP to P-Line Teflon coated. That stuff is incredible!

I wouldn't buy that Power Pro junk anyway.

Get you Sufix 832 or Fins Windtamer.. I prefer the 4 strand Windtamer

Used the slick 8 one time and it had terrible abrasion resistance. Watched a really good YouTube video showing how easy it broke when rubbed against something compared to other brands. I'm a big fan of 832 in the heavy sizes. I also like the daiwa samurai braid in smaller sizes

Lol, I'm not here to argue, but I'm primarly a bass guy and Fins Windtamer is the only braid I use.

The FIRST TIME I tried Slick 8.... Tied a lure on, made a cast, and MID-AIR I broke off! First cast!!! (No, didn't untie.. I walked down the street and got my lure back with 5ft of braid hanging on it.) Threw that bull [censored] in the garbage

I have nothing bad to say about 832, I just prefer the thicker 4 strand braid like the Windtamer. But Power Pro is all about the name and is a joke..

Oh yeah and by the way.... lol. Y'all let me know how your Power Pro holds up to your little 6lb bass. I have to find the pic, but a few years ago I took a friend to POC and he hauled in a Jack on medium light setup and 30lb Windtamer... 1hr 30min fight.

(This was years ago when I had amazing phone quality)

But yeah, this is what officialy sold me on Windtamer. 1hr 30mins of fighting this fish with a medium light Waterloo.

Oh yeah!! And look what reel hauled him in! No way, it's one of those piece of [censored] Concept reels!

I laugh when folks on here commend their Shimano's and Daiwas so much bass fishing.. lol. That stuff wouldn't last a day out on the saltwater.

Anyway.. Rant over! Carry on grin

OK, everyone put it back in your pants. I think the op is asking in regards to a finesse setup on a spinning reel setup. Not fishing for 30 lb saltwater fish. Take that non-sense to the saltwater forums

roflmao Windtamer is great for finesse! As I said above, it's the only braid I have, and I'm primarly a bass guy, but do saltwater as well.

The whole point of my post is my expereince with Fins braid, and I think that Jack and can show that experience with it, versus a 4lb bass. My first experience with Slick 8 was the garbage can

just having fun, clearly V2 has issues. That's why I switched to P-Line.

Not a fan of the new Super Slick either. It's stiff, almost like it has a break-in period. I switched over to Daiwa J-Braid on my spinning reels. You can get it at Academy and reasonably priced.

The fins is good in salt. But sucks in heavy cover I've found. I broke off 3 on frogs on 50lb windtamer at Rayburn last year on the same day. Stripped it off and spooled up regular old PP and its still on the reel with zero issues.
