Any of y’all who know me, know that I can’t sit still for long. Got the tractor home yesterday and started the process getting her back to life. I fixed all of the wiring that was slashed last night. Tractor will now start with the switch instead of a wrench across the starter terminals. The headlights were not even connected at all. Jumped a wire to them and, to my surprise, BOTH original headlights turned on. Probably never even been used before. Tested PTO out today, and it and the bush hog worked fine. No roaring from the gearbox. While I had it out, I degreased it and power washed it. Then went to sanding. Got everything scuffed up and all the rust knocked down to bare metal. Went to tractor supply, got some primer and Massey red paint, and brake clean and went to work. Sorry no pics of the pieces primed, but I got too excited and had to lay down some red. This is just the first coat. I think you’re supposed to do 3? I was very surprised at how “wet” this paint looks even after it’s dry.

Two coats will usually work pretty well. If that is the Magic brand paint from TSC, it will be dull and pink after a year if left outside, if kept inside it will last about 4 years. If that is what it is, you may want to shoot a coat of clear on it to keep it nice looking. Those are good little tractors, I have several hours on one, I cant remember having to work on it much.

Nice!
