So this week, one of my co-workers walked out to the parking garage in the afternoon to find his truck up on jack stands with all four wheels stolen. Late model GMC Denali. Security cameras saw the guy, but picture was not high enough quality to identify.

Today I’m driving down I35E and see the guy below with two sets of wheels and tires in his bed. I know the odds are slim it is the same guy. But I just can’t come up with a legitimate reason to be hauling around 8 wheels and tires in your pickup?

Should've pulled out your gat and done a citizens arrest just to be sure. I don't trust anyone with more than one spare tire.

on a serious note, a lot of the car theft rings are based in low income apartments around Carrolton.

Maybe he installs lift kits and keeps the old tires/wheels to sell them.

That's how I got the wheels that are on my truck, which had come with steel wheels. A guy running a shade-tree tire shop had a new set he had gotten from a guy who had bought a new truck and wanted a lift with new hardware.

Then I sold my steel wheels with tires to some guys who bought junk trucks at car auctions - you know, the guys you see towing trucks south on I35. They said they always needed cheap replacements for the trips.

Ours were stolen in broad daylight at the Chuy's at Heritage Trace and 35 literally 50yds from front door. 2016 Silverado OEM wheels. We were eating and when we came out the truck was up on blocks.

Those don’t look like factory wheels to me. At least the one you can see isn’t.

I knew a guy that owned a small wheel and tire shop. He got pulled over multiple times when coming back from his distributor by LEO’s. He looked a lot like this but the tires weren’t usually mounted yet.

Tell your friend to go to traders village and get his wheels back.

Locking lug nuts and a locking gas cap are always a good investment.

And a lock for your trailer hitch!

I saw a truck with about 50 catalytic converters in the bed. They were all shiney and had rusted exhaust pipes connected to them.

Yes and don't forget to secure the spare underneath your truck

My sales manager had the wheels and tires stolen from his 2019 Silverado, it was parked at a nice apartment complex in Irving.

I lock everything, doesn't mean they can't get it but I make it as hard as possible. they can't get to my spare without an ignition key, thank you ford.
