We made a short trip up to the Bell, yesterday PM. Chris and I needed to get away, but had no idea it would end up like this. Waning full moon, and a couple warming days, were sure to bring a few big girls up shallow. Fouz caught a 13.5 and 12 on his first two casts. Yes, I hate him sometime. I caught an 8-9 lber on my first cast. Awhile later, I caught this 12.5. Chris finished our limit with a heavy six. 37.5lbs on 3. 52+ on 5. Just amazing!

Mike Frazier, owner of CB, and Dr. Joe fished yesterday. Mike caught this 10 and Joe caught a 13.75 and a 12. Notice Joe's 12, and my 12.5 have a bunch of eggs yet to come. Where else are you going to have a shot at fish like these AND get a full tax deduction? Do I hear $2300?

Sorry, but the IRS does not allow a tax deduction for auctions, raffles or anything where you set the price on what you think it is work.

So i was debating whether or not to weigh in on this, the IRS has guidelines in regards to charity auctions (https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/charitable-organizations/charity-auctions) assuming the foundation this trip was donated to for bid is a 501(3)(c) org there is possibility of deductible charitable donations. Of course if you do not itemize you dont get a tax benefit anyways.

AFSP is recognized as a 501(c)3 not-for-proit organization by the federal government. The tax ID number or EIN number for AFSP is 13-3393329.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

Bid high, enjoy the trip and help the organization! Don't worry about the deduction. The charity is more at risk with the IRS and I am sure they handle it properly.
