A 1979 Massey Ferguson 230 with a 3 cylinder Perkins Diesel engine! My Dad works at pilgrim’s pride, and they put it up for auction because someone had cut some wires, the belt, and smashed up the gauges. They had done regular maintenance on it all it’s life, and was still being used before it was vandalized, so I figured it should still run. They just used it to mow around the shop. Went over the day I found out I won it and rinsed out tank, changed the fuel filter, and bled the lines. Put a new battery on it but could not get it to fire up. It was raining and freezing cold. Had to go out of town, so left it for 3 days and came back today in the warm sunshine and the sucker started up first revolution! Just needed some warm weather! Going to fix wiring tonight, degrease/power wash tomorrow. Maybe paint it on Monday. No leaks yet that I’ve seen either. No smoke out the exhaust at all after the initial startup. Oh, and yes I do have the hood, just took it off for transportation. Good catch. I'm guessing it's the 38HP.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Does this mean your dad is a Chicken Tender? Wow, you waited 6 years to tell that joke!

Most all those older Perkins need a shot of ether in cold weather.
