This tournament was one you had to fish to realize how the recent rain and temps affected the fishing. Prior to the big rains ( Lake Palestine area rec'd over 7" in a 2 day period) the lake was about 6" low. As of today, it's 1.69" high. Over 2 ft of water and cold rain scattered the fish everywhere. There was no pattern today. The previous week, several people related that you couldn't keep from catching a crappie. Today, it was easy to keep from catching a crappie, at least it was for us. Fish were caught from almost every area of the lake; some 5-8 ft deep and plenty caught in water 20-25 ft with fish suspended from 4 - 16 ft. If you didn't have livescope, you were in trouble trying to scratch out 7 fish. If you had livescope, it was spot and stalk hunting. Those that were proficient with livescope brought in very impressive stringers. Plenty of big fish and 7 fish stringers over 14 lbs. Plenty of new teams joining the fun this year. Thanks for fishing with CAT and look forward to seeing everyone and some more new faces at Fork next month. DIV I had 15 teams entered and DIV II had 24 teams entered. Ken, thanks for posting the results. We will see you next month. What’s this Livescope you talk about? I haven’t fished a tournament lately.

Nice, healthy stringers ...1-5 were close. Almost a back to back win ...pretty impressive!

It was a fun time. Working on video now. This being the lake that I fish all the time, I can honestly say that this was the hardest fishing I have done in years. I got 7 fish, but the one that was 10.2 inches is the one that took me out of 5th place. I tried for hours to replace him but it just would not happen. I even fished the bridge thinking I would catch one there, but looking at the bridge with Livescope there were no fish at the bridge. It was terrible. The tournament was a blast though!

Divisions need to be with / without livescope,.... Jim, I do not know if you're a member of CAT; if you are, formal concerns for board consideration can be expressed thru CAT's website. The board is supposed to consider all input and report back to the author in a timely manner. My comment is in no way a reflection on your opinion, one way or the other. It is simply advice as to how best to communicate proposed changes to the board; this from someone who has served the interest of the board in the past. If you are not a member, please consider joining. I find your posts on TFF to be informative and the CAT community can always use additional input from all levels of crappie experience and perspective.
