Anyone have an opinion on this place as far as fishing rowlett creek? I doubt crappie get up the far but wondering about bluegill and/or catfish. How's the bank access?

I haven't been in a couple years, but I never had any luck there.

I mentioned in another topic on Oak Point, I will give it another try.

I am not sure what types of fish are there.

I don't bother fishing Oak Point. I did a few times several years ago and can't remember a single good thing about it. Not a lot of bank access, fishing is tough and most of them are small. You're better off going elsewhere imo

It's never a waste of time, and we do not know unless we try.

I need to get out there again to find out.

Ugh, so do I. Only made it out fishing twice all of last year. Work was nuts for me in 2019. Things have leveled out a bit lately so I should be able to get out a lot more this year.

I've fished Oak Point many times. I never caught any fish there but saw one guy who caught a few good-sized Bass and another guy who said the fish were biting one day. There are definetly fish there but I haven't had any luck myself.

I would be careful of Oak Point because I saw a something that looked like a Scorpion last time I was there.

Like others have said accessing the creek can be tough. However, the area is beautiful. I loving walking around out there. I have some fish in the bends..target the deep pockets and you should catch some fish. Have fun and enjoy.

Friday I went and fished at a nice creek in Richardson, but came up empty.

After some frustration, and after sitting in my truck with hot coffee, I decided to head to Oak Point, you know, the place I've "never" caught anything.

It was around 10:30 by this time.

There were 3 other fishermen, and lots of people walking around the pond, construction workers digging up the trail on the south side.

I used 3 baits, and after about 45 minutes, I finally caught one, small bass, but at least I caught one.

I finally felt relief.

The wind was blowing really hard, but the temps were very nice!

Addendum: From what I could tell, the other fishermen didn't catch anything. None of us moved to the opposite side.

...!
