As a father of 4, I personally appreciate your stories of fishing with your son so please keep them coming. I have a 17 year old daughter that grew up fishing with me all the time. Now that she is in high school sports and works, she doesn't have much time. Now it is me and my twin boys. I started them off with carp fishing from the banks. Picking up our first boat this weekend and we will learn to drift for cats.

Thats good stuff right there JJMEL! I used to love to carp fish in my younger days. Me and my buddies used to win the carp and buffalo rodeos at the Lewisville fishing barge back in the 80s often. . I was addicted to it! We made our doe bait out of fresh cotton seed meal we got down at the Lewisville Feed Mill and occasionally added other things like Big Red and Dr Pepper.. Those were the good ol days! I can tell ya they are super fun to catch and pull as hard as any fish in the lake! We used to sneak into the gas dock at Eagle Point Marina at night and catch their pet carp they fed. They were 40 lb record size carp and we would throw some dog food in and dangle a doe bait on the surface. My buddy working the gas dock said they would be spooked and gone for weeks after we hung one. Carp are smart. My best memories are at the lake and I got a million of em!

Man those are some awesome memories right there E.G. and JJ!!!! ..I started youtubing to take my sick family members along with me on fishing trips through video, Also I like to film and get info out to people that need help( Not that I'm a big help..LOL)...But now I love filming to capture the moments with my grandson because those moments sure go by fast and I like to go back and see how he has changed so much in facial features and character....Ya'lls kiddos will look back on these pics and reminisce on great times thanks to great parents

I got a go pro but those things are a pain in the [censored] to deal with. I even bought a yolo stick that plugs into the back or front nav light socket so I don’t have to worry about batteries all day. I just can’t bring myself to break it back out. Fishing brings me peace but that dang go pro would get my blood boiling. I shoot all my videos on my phone but I sure wish I had better video. Maybe I’ll try it one last time and see if things go better. If I have any problems with it I’m gonna get my sons baseball bat and hit that camera over the moon...

Fished zero wind today. Floodgates were wide open which usually messes up the bite. M Bait was tough but got good bait after looking for an hour. Went straight to where my buddy popped a 58 the day before and the toads were still there. Problem is they had lock jaw and didn’t want to play. I threw every kind of bait at em you can think of in every cut and size and just couldn’t get em going. We were in the right place at the wrong time. We were able to catch 8-10 dinks which my son liked but the fishing was tough today. We’ll be back after em soon!

Beautiful day to be on the water and still making memories. Not all days can be great fishing, that’s what keeps us going back. I hate no wind days
