Somebody just tried to charge $4.56 to whomever or whatever that is. Called in and they also charged $146.00 to Discount Electronics.

It happens a lot, using your CC number that they can get from 1000 different places. Hopefully it was not a debit card. I had someone trying to use my Credit card in November, the company caught it, issued me a new card pronto. Wife had the same thing last year. Nobody is RFID'ing us. Low life scum. Vermin that roam the earth trying to think of how to take what you've earned.

It’s a debit card with a credit line. They instantly detect and text me. Then we talk and they credit it back.

Good. Smart practice. Same here, I have a limit set for an amount charged that texts me if it is hit. I review my statements too, no problem. My main point is that everyone gets hit sooner or later.

There is too much sensitive info directly tied to your debit card. Even if you have bad credit you can still get a prepaid credit card. There is still sensitive info tied to the credit card but not nearly a sensitive as the debit card. Its not IF they get your number its WHEN and then your only saving grace is the degree of separation from your bank account the credit card offers.

The card is usually compromised at the gas pumps. The skimmers they are using now are pretty high tech. I've got one of my investigators assigned to a task force they've formed here in East Texas to address the issue.
