Does the stages (tournaments) seem anticlimactic to you . When it’s over there’s know suspense or crowds to cheer !!
Just a boring ending to me .

No. I think the past three days of BPT were super exciting. Lots of big fish and lots of movement/last minute changes among the leaders. I thought the B.A.S.S. event on Eufala was one of the more boring events I've ever watched.

Watch out you know we aren’t allowed to talk about this stuff because we aren’t “pros”. But I have said from the get go that you can’t tell me the long time BASS guys don’t miss going across a stage having thousands screaming. You are in a boat with a cameraman and judge what fun is that.... none lol.

Fouzman he is talking about the ending the actual tournament is pretty good competition but after the winner is announced just in a boat basically by hisself.

I agree with you. The suspense & drama is still there with the cut line but not at the moment of victory. The anglers seem cheated the most but they don’t seem to care.

Overall this was a good tournament for them but the winning moment is still lacking. Every other sport has fan engagement when the championship is won. It’s sort of a big deal and something BPT will need to improve on.

I agree with Fouz, and I’ll add this:

The entire tournament is exciting. You know exactly what everyone has. Guys are battling for the cut line, or first place, or to get out of a knockout round. If Wheeler didn’t catch 100 lbs in 30 minutes yesterday, it probably would’ve been much closer at the end, with guys looking for one more fish with under a minute left. That’s exciting to me. It happened in the knockout round. One guy, forget his name at the moment, needed one fish to move up to 8th and advance. He caught a 1.14 with under two minutes left and didn’t advance. That’s exciting to me.

And watching MLF proves to me that the anglers and announcers and even me have no idea exactly what a fish weighs until it’s on the scale. BASS is giving you estimates until weigh in, so no one knows how much anyone has until the end of the day. I don’t like that as much.

I prefer the MLF style, as of now. I’ll watch BASS occasionally. There is room for both styles and people will like both or prefer one over the other.

I don’t think it much matters to a lot of guys whether they get towed across a stage or not. It wouldn’t matter to me, but it isn’t like it was a surprise that there would be no weigh in with a stage and fans. MLF has been around a long time. If guys come to miss it and switch back, that’s ok. If MLF adds some sort of weigh in, that’s ok too.

There is room for both.

First off, there aren't thousands screaming at most weigh ins, other than the Classic, and that's mostly on the last day. My opinion is that some who miss the weigh-ins miss them for themselves, not the pros. Weigh-ins and fan interaction is not "sponsorship gold". TV, www and web based content is picking up steam every day. That's where the sponsorship gold of the future is going to be. I understand how much some like the old format. But it's quickly evolving. Evolve with the change or don't. Sponsors, anglers and a BUNCH of new fans are.

I was about to say the same thing......and include the Classic (at least in Houston). I was driving a tow vehicle into the stadium on the final day at the Conroe classic with the anglers and I would guess there were a few hundred there.

This is how those selling ad space on web based content get their figures and revenue up. Meet the MLF fans that are the “new” sponsor gold for the clueless execs being sold the advertising and sponsorship spots.

That event this week was the first time I have ever watched any tournament other than the Classic live. I thought it was awesome and watching what happened in the final period of the championship was awesome. Has me wishing that happens to me some time. He stumbled onto absolute magic and executed on it flawlessly.

Very misinformed.. I’ve been to T-Bends Tournaments several times, Orange, and Texas Fest and can tell you there is thousands that attend. And watching most videos you can see the same at other stops.

Weather and part of the country play a factor in some events attendance.

The thing I wonder about BPT anglers Sponsorship is why would any pay for the boat wrap space? There seem to be no on the water fans, and with no weigh ins who is there to see it? The live show and tv shows barely show the side of the boats. This doesn’t hurt MLF in any way but it could take a little from the anglers pockets.

Or maybe they miss the fan interaction. Your statement holds no more validity than what you guy's accuse Big O of doing. Seems like a little bit of bias floating around. I guess with 50k posts you can do that. I would say the sponsors that dropped some of their MLF guys would disagree with you. But then again, who am I?
