The most worthless tree known as the Bradford Pear are budding heavy around here.

only one I watch is the Mesquite trees... when they start budding winter is over.
Just want to make folks smile, and spit coffee on their keyboard.

Not necessarily earlier down here. Huisache and mountain laurels were getting started the last week of January. One of the peach trees, the orange and lemon trees are about to explode any day now. Loquats were right on cue and didn't get their buds frozen off in the last cold snap so that's going to be a bumper crop again.
One thing that did strike me as a little odd, was there's a lot of trees that didn't lose all their leaves. Willows, sycamores, and a bunch others still have green leaves from last year.
