When I rode with Aaron Martens on Conroe he said his Phoenix would do 84. With me in there at 275# I saw 80.4 on the gps coming into Little Lake Creek. He does all kinds of things to get it to run fast. Lithium batteries, do not fill gas and oil, tackle weight distribution, etc.

is he still going strong? been awhile since ive ran into him. Haven’t seen him in quite a while, but he is still kicking. Heck of a fisherman and could drive Skeeter Wrangler as well as anyone I ever saw. last time I saw him was at fork. he had an over one evening and came to borrow some catch n release for his livewell. he grabbed a bottle of worm glo on accident and dumped the whole bottle in. first time I ever saw a chartreuse livewell...

I was wondering the same thing. Everyone talks about how fast Allison, Bullet, etc are but you don’t see many on tour with the guys that make their living fishing. Is it sponsorship issues, or do they just not fish as well? Just sponsorship money. They fish and handle rough water great Thanks, that makes sense.
It's only a good cast if you catch a fish...

No one was offered a free demo boat from Allison. I was however working a deal with an Elite Pro and due to some unforeseen expenses for the 2020 season, he had to back out and take a “deal” from a bigger manufacturer. This gentleman was sponsored by Yamaha. Mercury Racing does not sponsor fishermen nor does Mercury Tournament support carry Racing parts (IE: Sportmaster Gearcase). I did just finish up the deal on Teb Jones new Allison XB-21, he has been fishing from an Allison for several years now. I can promise you this, KVD himself wouldn't even be able to get a “free” Allison.

Allison does not sponsor bass fishermen. They have never done it. Grant Goldbeck bought an Allison 21 and was sponsored by Yamaha so he put that on the back. A Mercury would have been the better choice since the Yamaha 250 will not run with the 250 Pro XS 2 stroke and the Yamaha lower vs the Sportsmaster. Lee Sanderson set up a XB21 BassPort Pro with a 225 ProXS 2 stroke for Allison Boats and ran just a tick under 90 mph with half fuel on a one day setup. They are running the 21's with a 300R and some have broken 100. Here is one of them.
