Not a fishing report, but I thought more people might see it.
I saw multiple boats Saturday headed back to Oak Thicket running to the left of the buoy’s from the cove entrance all the way to the no wake buoy. BE EXTRA CAREFUL. It’s very shallow for much of that run. The back half is probably 3’ and less. But most importantly, there are submerged stumps/trees that come farther out than the visible trees. I saw several boats running between the buoy line and the trees and a couple were way to close to the trees. See my map for reference.
I read on the news that a boat sunk Saturday night around 10 pm on Fayette with 5 people. 2 made it to shore, 2 bodys recovered and 1 still missing. Pretty sad for sure.
Five dudes in a 16 ft boat, at night? I'd bet good money those guys were cast-netters. Not a PFD among them, either. Isn't it time to ban cast-netting on Fayette? Who do you contact to start a petition or at least bring up the topic? Something has to change.

There already is an effort to get cast netting regulated on Fayette. A couple of regulars that fish Fayette have met with TP&W and voiced their concerns.
Transgenders: God made them, the devil changed their minds.
