Do you ever get tired of using it? I know it’s an odd question, but do you miss the anticipation of a fish possibly being on a stump/dock without you knowing?

I understand the point of fishing is to catch fish, and I’ve had plenty of days where I blanked wishing I caught something. Just wondering if you feel like it’s too easy for some of you now? For the record I have no idea how easy it is to find fish with one, I just see highlights of YouTube videos where people are pretty much calling their shots before they drop their bait down.

BTW- This is not a bashing thread as I think I would enjoy having one on my boat, just can’t afford it for the few times each year I take it out.

Even with 2D you can see the fish. The thump is what excites me.

The answer for me is No. There are a couple of times like fishing around a bridge that I do not always use it, but other than that I love the thing. Where I fish and because I do not have a transducer for anything else on the front of my boat, I would have no idea where the fish/stumps are. Whether I use it for actually finding the fish all the time or finding the brush, it is something that I want to do. I cannot tell you how many times I have dropped down and all of the sudden I see a fish fly in and bite, one that I was not after, but then at the same time I will see fish and they will treat me like a nerd at a high school dance and stay away. haha. The Thump still excites me fishing with or without it. On your line about them calling their shots before they drop it, yes it can happen, but I would say (depending on the time of year) that the shot calling is successful about 50% of the time. If it does not work, I do not put it on youtube so you will never see it. YouTube is like a movie or a 10 minute summarization for a football game, only the highlights are put out (in most cases)

To me, it’s just as exciting watching it all happen versus not knowing.

I promise when you can see your bait and you can see a fish attack it, it is exciting as heck! Especially to newbies to the sport. I've learned more about fish behavior since I got it last May than I had in 30 prior years of boat ownership. I fish a lot harder now because I know I've located fish... I can see them moving and they don't look like arches or dots. Casting a net for bait is many times more effective when you can see where to throw it. So, I'll never get tired of using it because I spend so much more time fishing and fishing productive water now.

One: You don't waste time fishng where there ain't no fish.
Two: You learn a LOT about how fish react to different presentations.
Three: You will soon discover that there are way more fish in the lake that you ever imagined.
Four: It is a hoot just watching the Livescope. Most of the time, I just run the livescope and let the guy(s) that are with me fish.

I absolutely love the Livescope.

Luck will beat skill any time you have enough of it!

I would add a number 5: It can be frustrating when you add up items 1, 2 & 3 -- then can't get the fish to hit anything! eek

I don’t own a livescope, but I can answer your question...NO, you never get tired of watching what is happening below you...the only time I get frustrated, using the livescope...is when crappiexpress turns the transducer away from my jig...then, I go back to watching my rod tip, and fishing with the last image, in my mind...until he brings it back around! You can’t imagine what is really happening down there, until you see it with livescope!

That said, side imaging is more important in unlocking a lake.

Haha....can't believe he would do that. Does he wait till just before the crappie makes its move?

LVS adds an extra sense to fishing, visual. It’s addictive the same way video games are. I’ve never had anyone on the boat walk away from the Garmin screen to fish without it. It more like jostling and elbowing to get into better position to view the LVS screen.

One 10-pounder is better than ten 1-pounders; but 100 1-pounders is ok too!

I believe it’s a great piece of equipment and can’t wait to see what’s next! there are some young guys that are incredible with it.
Makes a slow day on the water a lot more interesting for sure!

I am probably 25 to 75 on the Fish I have seen hit the bait. But just seeing what is happening is the most important. Seeing how they react to certain baits, other boats in the area, my boat noises. Other fish that swim with them

It is a Knowledge tool more than a Barrell shooting tool as most think, that don’t have it. It also challenges you if it is on a pole and you are searching. Running the Tm and the Pole and jigging is busy work. Lol.
